Camp Tohiglo staff is comprised of an all volunteer staff. Volunteers are recruited through the Camp Dean for each of our four weeks. Welcome back Camp Tohiglo Staff!! This page is to bring you up-to-date on announcements, procedures, and forms you may need at camp. You must provide current background check copies (that meet the law) or you must obtain background checks. SEE YOUR SPECIFIC PROCESS (based on residency) BELOW.

BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS: (As of May 2023)

This is for all staff (18 & older) that have direct contact/supervision of campers. DETAILS are in each procedure form below. • The procedure for PA Residents is different than that of Non-PA Residents, so please READ CAREFULLY! • Clearances for must be obtained every 5 Years. Important Change (7/01/18): Staff needing background checks NO LONGER NEED TO DO THE “PA MANDATORY REPORTING TRAINING” (the 3 hour course), we have not had time to update the Forms below to reflect that. We just found out that it is no longer a requirement per Pennsylvania.

FAQ’s:

If I had a background check done 5 years ago for my job, do I need to complete these again? Yes, PA requires this background procedure EVERY 5 YEARS now. I’m not a PA Resident and am volunteering for less than 30 days at camp, do I still need to go through the background check procedure? Yes, please click on FORM 1501-NR above for your procedure to follow. If I had a background check done for my job/organization, or my church, less than 5 years ago, do I still need to go through the procedure? You won’t have to complete the entire process (because you can submit copies of completed steps), but you MUST READ each step of your process carefully. How soon should I start the background check process? IMMEDIATELY. Please do not delay! The complete and FINISHED REPORTS/CHECKS must be to the camp secretary before July 1st!! OR YOU MAY BE DENIED ON STAFF!!
